Learning to dance can be challenging, and without the appropriate footwear dancing successfully can be harder than it needs to be. The most critical tool for dancing is a proper pair of shoes. Having the proper shoes for the style of dance, i.e. ballroom, salsa, swing, or Latin, will literally be the turning point in the way you dance. Pumps or sandals with a 2-3 inch heel are the most popular choices for ladies. However, beginners may wish to chose a pair with low heels like this 1.5″ heel open toe shoe, especially if you have never danced in heels. I know of quite a few competitive women dancers who wear a shoe like this to compete in because of the comfort factor. Look for shoes constructed with extra cushioning for more comfort and superior support, and you will be ready for hours of dancing!
